

Composer, violinist, and sound artist. Born in Gdańsk, he studied, among other places, at the Académie Musicale de Villecroze in France. In his work, he moves freely between traditional forms and sonic experimentation, combining classical instrumentation with a modern approach to composition. His music has been released by labels such as Mute Song, Important Records, and Ici D’ailleurs. While his work is often compared to that of Max Richter or Jóhann Jóhannsson, it retains a distinctly individual character.
His album Liebestod earned critical acclaim for its exceptional emotional intensity, while Rite of the End - in addition to enthusiastic reviews in the international press - was named the Best Album of 2017 in Poland and brought the artist a nomination for the Polityka Passport Award. One reviewer remarked that “if Wesołowski had lived in the 19th century, he would be featured in music history textbooks.”He also composes flm music - his scores include Wolf (Focus Features), starring Lily-Rose Depp and George MacKay, Listen to Me Marlon (Universal), as well as the flms Minghun and theseries Eastern Gate (Max), directed by Jan P. Matuszyński.
Wesołowski’s works have been performed by the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, the Aukso Orchestra, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Entre Ríos in Paraná (Argentina), the Sudecka Philharmonic, and the Szczecin Philharmonic. In 2024, he presented new music for Carl Theodor Dreyer’s The Passion of Joan of Arc, performed live by the Orchestra and Choir of the National Philharmonic.In June 2025, his latest solo album, Song of the Night Mists, was released by the British label Unheard of Hope.
